Directing and Writing

From taking multiple directing and writing courses, Hannah Devlin has produced many productions both independently and with her school.

Halls of Horror

To fundraise for the LACHSA Foundation, each year the Theatre department produces a night of Halloween interactive theatre. They create two walk-through mazes, and the student actors participate in storytelling, jumpscares, and walking around in character. In the fall of 2022, Hannah had the opportunity to assistant-direct Halls of Horror - Isla de Las Muñecas, where the actors told the spooky story of Don Julio and his island, infested by countless creepy dolls. Hannah and her teachers decided to make their show in both English and Spanish at an abandoned elementary school and were able to build large sets off campus. The show ran for two weeks and received many positive reviews, Halls of Horror has been an event that LACHSA students look forward to each year.

64 Hour Film Festival

Each year, the students of Los Angeles County High School for the Arts participate in a film festival with the challenge of making a film within 64 hours. Students create teams and work together on a given prompt to create a short film.

In 2022, Hannah directed and led her team through the film festival, creating a short film called, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Where Are They Now?

Eurocraft Productions

Every few Fridays in 2021, Hannah and her friends would create short films in around 1 hour or less. She would present them to her fellow students in the Directing class as well as the Comedy class.
